Abstract
The author argues that in order to analyze social spaces, researchers have to solve four problems: the problems of (1) theory; (2) locating the social; (3) equivalence and (4) demarcation. Apart from solving these problems, future methodological should especially develop methods of constitution and production of space and aim at linking discussions of different research fields, e.g. urban sociology, comparative sociology and cross-cultural research.
