Abstract
This paper will focus on the methodological aspects of the process undertaken to link data from Footprints in Time: the Longitudinal Study of Indigenous Children (LSIC) with the individual student NAPLAN results. It will also discuss some technical aspects of the resulting merged sample of students, including the analysis of child and family characteristics which are more likely to result in successful (or unsuccessful) linkage, whether any bias is present in the resulting matched sample, and how this potential bias could be dealt with in data analysis.
